P3: - Create a production plan for audio-visual content using special effects
StoryBoard.
Location Recce
My Treatment for my chosen brief. Number 3 a music video.
The cover art, or poster for the song and video. The name of the song, (down the side) "deep space alienation" is to describe how the music makes you feel further isolated even if you are on your own in a completely isolated place.
The name "5 archBishops of Canterbury" I chose as it show the anarchy nature of the music and video and it is a nod to band "Alabama 3" consisting of up to 25 members all from around England. The art its self is inspired by the sex pistols God Save the Queen and shows a distorted picture of the prime minister which is a favourite album of mine. One could also interpret in many different ways which expands my audience slightly. |
For this brief I am required to use 2 visual and one special effect at least. I intend to do more visual effects and I may experiment with more special effects, However I know the three base effects that I will consider. For my first visual I shall use a colour changing effect on the sky. This looks very good and helps with the detachment from real life. My second will be a morph from day to night. If done well this will look very effective and hopefully help viewers achieve a feeling of time passing very quickly which will be benefited by my music. Finally I shall use an explosion under soil and reverse the video because I feel that this will be very effective to look at but it will also help with the detachment form reality that my music aims to provide. I may also experiment with stunt props like balsa wood and sugar glass for the same effects.
P4: - Incorporate visual effect ideas into the production plan
Upon consideration I decided that ultimately the morph I plan to use is not an effective visual effect and therefore whilst I shall incorporate it into my piece I shall instead include rotoscoping and a chromakey effect to enhance my video and create an effective production to fit the brief.
My mood board shows an explosion in the centre. This is how I expect the explosion I intend to create to look, further to that the surrounding art is taken from my inspirations when it comes to the piece I am to make. The top and Bottom left are from a music video that I filmed and my friend edited, I really liked this look as to me it creates a distraction from the normal world. The top right image symbolises to me the sheer size and spectacularity of space, and the bottom right is an interesting effect from rapper "lil pump"s music video.
M1 - Discuss the issues and risks for the proposed multiple effects
With consideration I shall potentially incorporate some smoke grenade effect. whilst they are another filmmaker, Beaus, I may film them and incorporate it into my piece.
Permission from the landowner for use of their land as a film set and area for detonation of a pyrotechnical device. Unfortunately it is not typed, however it reads:
"Do you allow me (Jacob Ridgeway-Bishop) to use your land for filming and the detonation of an F2 Class pyrotechnic device?"
- Fields at bottom of Upper Harper Royd Farm.
