P3: Develop pre-production materials for an original media product
Here is my mood board for a cultural promotional video. I chose the left to be of images symbolic with different cultures and the right to be common place images of Cambridge, i thought that the mandala in the middle pulled the two together to show the symbiotic nature of culture and Cambridge.

TECHNICAL RECCE
This is a Manfrotto tripod that i use alongside my DSLR unfortunately it is designed for stills photography and therefore has no pan handle, however its ball head allows for complete range of movement whilst maintaining stabilisation. This means that I have to manually pan however this is not too tricky and therefore I think it is an adequate choice of tripod
My Storyboard drawn by hand
My Script produced on Celtx and pasted into weebly.

Permission (or not) to film in areas in Cambridge.
Proof that I can legally use the music I have chosen.
M2: Legal and ethical issues are identified and resolved for the planned production
For this piece of work I have to advertise the virtues of Cambridge with regard to culture and therefore expression of belief, thus I must think carefully about how I can talk about all cultures and religions without offending or leaving anyone out. For this piece of media to be successful and to avoid a lawsuit I must take every precaution so that all parties who view the film feel suitably represented.
I have listed the various pre production considerations that I should take upon board. This way I can effectively justify whether certain parts of my short films can feasibly go ahead or whether I need to make changes / get rid of parts altogether.
To include people in my video I need them to sign permission slips attesting that they allow me to include them in this video. An easy solution to this problem is to produce permission slips that just need signing. And more importantly not including peoples faces in my production. This can easily be done simply by not filming them.
Next I need to make sure that those that I do include whether it be individuals, companies or groups, be filmed in a positive light with bright lights and smiling faces. This is important as for example if I filmed a company and used dark lights and rain. The pathetic fallacy would indicate that the company is not great. In an extreme case failure to do this could result in a Libel case as a company could say that I purposefully implied negative connotations.
I will also have to take into consideration how the bbfc will review my product, whilst it seems obvious that a promotional video would be suitable for all ages, it is still important that I make sure I reference the guidelines just incase. I need to also make sure that in the background I have not inadvertently caught some audio of someone swearing in the background of one of my shots as filming in public means I can not control what people are saying. The link to the bbfcs guideline is here…. https://www.bbfc.co.uk/what-classification/u
I also need to secure permissions from the owners of the establishments and areas that I film, thankfully most of Cambridge is owned by the council itself and as I am making a film for them they should allow to film in most places. It is only private run business and establishments that I need to make sure I have requisite permission.
