P4 - Describe how the proposal conforms to meet all legal and regulatory requirements.
Legally my app proposal is quite safe. It doesn't have many features that could end up in a legal quandary.
The main few features that may potentially need consideration are:
The main few features that may potentially need consideration are:
- CopyRight Designs and Patents act - When creating anything whatsoever especially a media product everything you submit must be carefully evaluated so that it does not copy or seem to copy another product. This also includes making sure that no code is copied and making sure that every stage is documented so that even if some code seems similar it can't be claimed to be identical.
- The Data Protection act is one of the most important things to consider especially as at the moment with various factors the world is very critical on data protection techniques. My app will contain Addresses and bank details for (hopefully) lots of customers. This sensitive data will need encrypted storage so that no one could possibly hack it and find things that they have no right to view. Further to this my servers will need Secure Socket Layers, that give an extra layer of protection from third parties.
P5 - Assess the ethical, social and moral impact your proposal could have on stakeholders.
Ethically there is more to consider. Whilst there is no legal requirement to be a morally respectable company. Without paying attention to certain considerations there is always the risk of losing customer base because of a poor decision.
One of the most important things to think about is how to deal with controversial companies. For example those who use sweatshop labour or unsustainable clothing materials. If my app supports them or advertises them, certain activists might well claim that I am an accessory to the misdeed and therefore look down upon my app. This must be very carefully considered however because boycotting certain brands because of alleged misdeeds could prove problematic under Libel laws.
However the main things to consider about when discussing ethics are things that predominately don't affect me however I have decided to list them just to make sure that there is absolute transparency between me and potential developers.

- Don't collect excessive data, no one trusts a company that asks for access to absolutely everything. My app needs limited data so I am going to stick with the bare minimum that I need for my app to focus. Whilst considering that there is always more data that I can which will further the apps impact on the world at a later date.
- If I do end up using any third party code I must make sure that I correctly reference the people who created the third party code, I don't want to seem ungrateful for what I have used.
- I must make sure never to do any harm. This is certainly one that does not affect me or my app at this time.
- Make sure my privacy policy is clear. No one likes to feel tricked so I must make sure that my data usage is easy for anyone who wants to see it.
