P1 - Explain how the digital revolution will impact on your proposal for a new product
I have chosen the fashion brief which entitles:
"A fashion app. This app should be a new and exciting idea based on some aspect of fashion. Fashion holds a huge market share in the digital world and an innovative new product has the potential of being very successful. The app should be new and exciting and a consideration given to future innovations."

. When you look at modern technological advancements you see that the real turning point in terms of developments and advances comes during the early 1970s. With this influx of new technological ideas comes the true gem of the technological revolution - The World Wide Web. This creation was not only an impressive and useful tool but it truly changed the way that people considered technology and the way that people think about the uses and versatility of technology.
These new ways of thinking brought multiple things to the technological development table. This is partially due to the fact that the World Wide Web meant that people around the world could connect with each other almost instantly. Furthermore this new creation could not be sold to the public in the way that phones, computers or sound systems could be sold to the public, this meant that developers had to come up with ways to not sell the internet but how to sell internet able devices and to make devices use the internet in innovative ways. The fact that people could connect and share with others around the world also meant that people wanted to be able to share media products like film and music with their associates, furthering the need for digitally able films, music and images.
Fashion takes up a large part of the social media world. With the prevalence of "flex" status on social media (where people show off their wealth my stating how they can afford designer brands and expensive items), as well as hip-hops focus on the likes of Gucci, YSL, and Canada Goose. This interest creates great demand across a great range of ages and demographics, for an app that focuses on fashion. This is a mainstream market that are social media savvy and take an interest in what they wear.
This creates a large gap in the market from which many avenues for an app could be developed. However what I noticed is that for big name brands such as Supreme or Armani, when limited edition clothes come out they are often sold out very quickly and an avid brand chaser must research when a 'drop' is coming out so that they can be the first to buy clothes. However I believe that great success could be gleaned by creating an app that actually tells you when a 'drop' is due and that allows you to order clothes from it, it will also have a calendar of 'drops' of your favourite brands as well as giving style suggestions. To make profit I would have this app on a subscription service as the service it provides is of an elite nature and is one of a kind that needs real people behind it to give to the community. The app could also gain from brands that want the app to push their products and advertise more heavily.
Funding my app is not impossible however it does require careful consideration. The most costly aspect of this creation according to my research is Marketing and promoting not the products but the app itself. The most successful way to reach the desired target audience is to get the companies whom the audience is buying off of to market the app in conjunction with the app for example...

...Alongside this drop list from designer brand Supreme (https://www.supremecommunity.com/season/spring-summer2019/droplists/) you could have a message saying "Track all our drops and more with the new app". This would appeal as mostly the only people to see it would be those who might actually use the app making one of the most efficient places to advertise.
M1 - Analyse the developments within digital technologies and the opportunities generated from the relationships they have created between industries
Impact upon planning.
The long ever widening road of technological advancements comes with multiple developments that not only changed the way that that specific product functioned but they also had a lasting worldwide impact. This causes ripples throughout the world.
For example the Internet meant that now file sharing is as easy as pressing a button. This vastly increased the time that it takes to complete shared projects as you don't ever even need to meet the people that you are working with. This means that instead of writing a report and then either taking it to someone in person or, in more recent years, emailing it to them, and then waiting for feedback and then acting on it. They can now edit your work whilst you write, as well as write feedback on individual words, sentences or paragraphs that they want.
Google drive is a perfect way to do this, it provides an easy file sharing system whereby you can put someones email address into a bar and they are instantly shared with what you are working on. You can also set different rules for them, for example not letting them edit work only view it, or only being able to edit certain parts of it, it is very useful so that everyone can work on something separate without the worry that someone will accidentally edit something that someone has been working very hard on.
This of course is an instrumental development for my App idea. To create an app takes a set of teams each working on separate areas of the App, be this distribution, Design or even just the coding itself. To make the app successfully there needs to be completely transparent communication, and having tools such as Google Drive is the most sure fire way to ensure that.

Impact upon product development.
Planning isn't the only thing that is improved by having new emerging tools online. When it comes to actual development of a product nothing is more useful than being able to work on the same project with people across a room or even across the world.
Adobe also has a similar feature, called Creative Cloud, whereby all of your Adobe projects (e.g Photoshop or Premiere Pro) can be accessed online from any device simply by logging in to the program. Further to this some Adobe products have simpler versions that can be loaded on a handheld device. This is very useful for people on the go who have incredibly simple edits that they might like to make.
This is especially useful if you consider someone working as part of team with a shared Creative Cloud account. This would mean that they could very easily download and then share the edits they make and their team could just as easily edit and share the work that they are producing. This is really important when working on something like a large film piece or television show you could have as many as 8 editors working at any one time.
One of the most important things that has emerged with consideration to my product is the development of secure payment and being able to order things online, this comes with the growth of internet shopping Giants like Amazon. This has taken a toll on the high street retailer. But it leads to an interesting way of shopping where you can buy things literally 24/7. This means that creators can time exactly when they want to release clothes, and these clothes at that time can be bought right around the world. Therefore a simple device that tells you when to buy the clothes and even having someone that would put an order in for you is incredibly sellable as a product.
In a vicious circle type effect, the more that the high street retailers are pushed down the less that people feel the need to visit meaning that the retailers get further driven away and so on and so forth. Therefore it is not impossible that soon High street retails may not exist and therefore a product that covers your High Street retailer needs is very important.
Overall this is incredibly useful for when I finally make my product. This makes it really easy for my production team to code, design and market the place with perfect synergy and communication.
